Description: Rolf Structural Integration, also called Rolfing, is a method of manual bodywork that establishes a symmetrical postural order of the body so that it can feel lighter and move more fluidly. Rolf Structural Integration uses a multiple session program of deep connective tissue manipulation that loosens tight areas of connective tissue called fascia. Fascia can be damaged from: accidents, surgeries, sports injuries, emotional trauma, certain dermal and spinal diseases and poor posture. Fascia will bind together altering posture, movement and cause pain. By using deep pressure into the muscles and around the joints we begin to loosen and unwind stuck areas of scar tissue and shortened tendons. We are trying to permanently change the physical structure by aligning the body head to toe, this creates balance and efficiency in living and moving. There is very firm pressure used in the treatments, therefore individuals should be in good physical condition before receiving sessions. We also provide deep tissue massage therapy.
