I am a soft tissue specialist and I have been in practice since 2001 as both a practitioner and an educator.
I have a degree in Massage Therapy and been practicing Medical, Sports Deep Tissue Soft Tissue Mobilization for over 20 years and I'm licensed in both CA & NY. I am Board Certified through the NCBTMB (National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork), and have been teaching Advanced Medical and Sports Massage Therapy for over 20 years as well. I also sat on the Educational Development Committee for the Federation of State Massage Therapy Boards.
The work is commonly referred to as Massotherapy and a combination of techniques are used: Soft Tissue Mobilization, Muscular/ Myofascial Deconstruction, Trigger Point Therapy, Stretching & Range Of Motion, PNF, Active/Passive Myofascial Release, and Postural/Structural Integration.
The work is for goal oriented, injury related sessions, condition management, or sports maintenance work for athletes in training or for individuals with very high physically demanding jobs or lifestyles.
It's based on the anatomy and physiology of tissues and not on pressure.
Regular massage sessions too, deep tissue or swedish relaxation stress reduction. But most people don't hire me for that kind of work.
I work mostly for individuals traveling to their homes, but some past clients include the Rockettes, ATP (Men's Association of Tennis Professionals), Luminosity, and various shows on Broadway.
