I specialize in Neuromuscular Therapy that have longer lasting effect than a "regular" massage. By going deep into your tissues we can release scar tissue and trigger points that many times are the root of your pain and sometimes poor posture. If these trigger points aren't being released in a muscle or it's connective tissues, only a very temporary release of your tension will take place, and soon after you've left your therapist, your pain will be back. I also practice Craniosacral Therapy which can be very valuable after for eg. a car accident, dental work or a line of of traumas that the body might have experienced throughout a long life. CranioSacral work, which is a lvery non-invasive technique in order to work with the Central Nervous System, can also be an option for those of you who strongly dislike the heavy pressure that characterizes Deep Tissue work. Lastly, I offer a combination of a Swedish Massage and other techniques and modalities, so that you can both relax and get pain relief too. Hence, the name! My overall rating of this provider: Highly Recommended Would I use this provider again? Absolutely! The following are my expanded comments regarding my experience with this provider: Kicki is the first and "only" therapist to identify the primary cause of my chronic neck, shoulder and lower back pain. In my case, the culprits were self-inflicted and recurring due to incorrect stretching and exercise. She was kind enough to demonstrate the correct form and technique and offer practical advice to revise my daily stretching/exercise routine. To address the trio of pain trouble spots, she employed the use of Neuromuscular Therapy(NMT), deep tissue and trigger point over the course of five 90-minute sessions. This combination of healing modalities was very effective in providing me with a noticeable and significant amount of pain relief that has restored my feelings of well being. Additionally, she also provides a great Esalen-inspired Swedish full body massage. FYI, she is one of the few select "competent" therapists that I can highly recommend to address most chronic pain conditions.
